“Fiercely Local” - Issue 339

“We are fiercely Local” - this is most likely a saying that you have heard if you’ve been following this blog for the last while. This is one of the most popular mottos that is associated with Keller Williams Home Group. In fact, if you were to come into our office, you would even see this splashed across our wall.

But what does this actually mean?

To be fiercely local in Real Estate means that we strive to service our local Real Estate market as best we can. We pride ourselves on knowing the area well in order to provide competitive services to our clients in our communities. Buying a home can be complicated, with different municipal services and local laws that local REALTORS® often know best.  The value of “location, location, location” should never be underestimated, and nobody knows the local locations better than a local REALTOR®.

But this goes beyond Real Estate and business. To be Fiercely Local means to support our community by shopping locally and supporting other local businesses as well. We aim to invest in our community and to service them in ways that aren’t just about business, but about investing in the well-being of our community.

Some might ask how we do that.

We take supporting our community seriously and we are always looking for new and exciting ways to get involved. So here’s just a little peek into how we have been “Fiercely Local” this holiday season.

Our brokerage took on two amazing families for Adopt-a-Family, a program which connects families who need support with donors who can bring joy & hope during the holiday season by donating gift cards and wish gifts. This incredible organization is run by the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington, currently supporting over 1,460 families who may need extra help during the holidays.

Our brokerage also served as a drop-off location for Emma’s Toy Drive, a local Christmas charity that collects toys and gifts to give to the Women in Crisis Shelters of Guelph-Wellington County. This year, the charity focused on pre-teens and teens, ensuring that everyone has a special Christmas.

Another great cause that members of our team took on was to organize a drop-off spot for the Guelph Food Bank at our brokerage. With the rising price of food and living, this year is especially tough, so it was a privilege to be a part of this program and to help distribute food to those who need it.

During the Christmas season, our brokerage also puts together baskets which agents can then buy as gifts for clients, friends, or family. These baskets are filled with products and treats that are all purchased from local businesses in our community. Some of these include Heartwood Farm & Cidery, Well Baked Box, Lunar Love Candle Co, & Community of Hearts to name only a few.

Not only was this a great way to financially support local businesses in our community, but also allowed us to make connections with other local businesses and meet people in our community.

A big thank you also goes out to the members of our team that helped to organize these events and who participated! It is great to see our own  community coming together to help our local communities.

Looking back on the past year, we can say without a doubt that we have been “Fiercely Local”, and that this is not just a slogan, but truly something that Keller Williams Home Group Realty strives to be.

Now that our brokerage has expanded, so have the communities that we service, which means that our ability to give back and participate in our communities has also grown. We are looking forward to seeing what new opportunities & possibilities this brings to support our local communities.

As we enter the last few weeks of 2022, to be “Fiercely Local” continues to be our goal and standard for the New Year- to continue to service & provide our community in new and innovative ways and to invest back in the communities which have helped to build us and our businesses.

Thanks for reading & enjoy the weekend.
